  • DNxHD with alpha from AE… Vegas not seeing the alpha

Having issues with importing animation rendered using Avid DNxHD codec file from AE that has alpha. Reads fine back into AE, but Vegas doesn’t see the alpha. Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

Click on the file in project and double check (at the bottom) that is says Width x Height x 32. If it says 24, something has gone wrong.

Put the media on the timeline then right click on the media, select properties and media tab and set the alpha channel type.

Alpha channels are not set on by default.

It shows 32… tried all alpha settings. Weird. Rendered out of AE as RGB color space, tried uncompressed and compressed alpha settings within dnxhd panel…

I know in AE you must select RGB+Alpha, again not the default. If you did this then it’s a codec problem.
I haven’t tried that codec, but it’s on my list of things to do.

    Sorry I couldn’t help
