If this is true, it’s preposterous.
If I’ve “told” the software what folder to use for a project, there’s no reason it should be think I want to change it every time I open and close a project. I would think that 99% of the time, editors would want to use the same scratch disc that they were previously using when project was opened last.
I (of course) appreciate the option of changing the scratch disc if needed, but resetting it each time I change projects is like resetting your fonts every time you re-open a word document.
Stupid!

thanks david. i do understand this. because it is more powerful and has more options, i was simply hoping that there was a preference i could change that would allow this.
-
i understand that it wouldn’t have any way of knowing what my preference would be, but in other systems i’ve used, it would keep the audio linked to the video if it were directly “above” it. since the piece i’m deleting has no corresponding video, i kinda’ sorta’ wish it would simply allow me to delete the lead-in.
LOL wishful thinking. thank you 🙂

thank you. but, back to my original question, can it be done?

i see that they have 5 different volumes, and by searching around online i found volume 4 at near half price.

the client wants a booth where a subject can walk in, sit down, and be recorded. the end product could be a dvd or digital tape — doesn’t matter since i’ll be doing the post on it 🙂
there is a company in canada that has them, but nothing here in florida. the company in canada is: gabzebo dot com … cool product!

ugh. i give up. downloaded the newest stuffit, ran the installer, and now i get a message saying the software to be installed needs OX 10.3. i have 10.2.8
-
thanks floh …
i downloaded as you suggested. the resulting folder has two files: a folder named “OS X” which is empty, and a file called “media 100 codecs install”. when i click on that file, i get a message saying “there is no default application associated with this document”.
huh? since when do installers need an application associated with them? i’m confused.

thanks, yes, that’s what i’ve been trying to do.
when i open the AVI files in quicktime, there isn’t any audio. however, when i export the file to a .mov file, the audio is there.
the problem is i still can’t seem to bring that 640×480 file into media 100. it will look like it’s importing properly, but then it just doesnt’ appear in the bin. puzzling.
should i be exporting it to .mov as 720×480? 720×486? 720×540? something else?
i know this shouldn’t be so complicated!

forgive my ignorance, but exactly how would i go about putting the drive in a new enclosure?? can i buy enclosures? is this something i would be able to do or would i need a tech to do it? putting it in my bay isn’t an option.
thanks!
