Well I have read the Qmaster online manual and researched on google and apple sites. I am rendering out from Final Cut (This is the Final Cut Forum!)
Compressor Log shows error: Processing service request error: Final Cut generated an error or unexpectedly quit.
Compressor works fine if “This Computer” is selected as the cluster, it fails when the QuickCluster is selected.
I am using a test sequence that has 10 seconds of color bars with no effects. I use “Send to Compressor” to start export. Selected a default preset (h.264 for apple TV). Selected the Cluster (EditA) with include managed computers on other computers not selected.
I have three G5 2×3 GHz Dual Core Intel Xeon with 8 GB 677MHz DDR2 Memory hooked up to a 12 TB xSan. OSX 10.5.8 with all current updates.
All three systems are identical.
Same software – Final Cut 7.0, Compressor 3.5, Qmaster 3, Quicktime 7.6.2
Qmaster settings:
Share this computer as – QuickCluster with services
Services – Sharing set for Compressor and Rendering
Managed not set for Compressor and Rendering
Running two instances
QuickCluster: Idenify this QuickCluster set to EditA
Include unmanaged services from other computer not checked (tried checked also)
No Security set.
Cluster Storage set to /Volumes/xSan/Qmaster/EditA (permissions set with ACL with Full control. All systems can read/write/create with no problem.
Network – Allow discovery via Bonjour is checked
Use network interface is set to Ethernet 1 on all systems
I’ve rebooted computer, reset and restarted Qmaster.
I’ve also setup a “Managed Cluster” using Qadministrator with no luck also.
Once I can get the simple output working I’d like to be able render out sequences that have Primatte keys.
