Sorry, image I am uploading is verified correct with alpha, yet the site kills the alpha somehow…just tried .psd and .tga, both report unsupported file type, as did .pdf

This is weird – I’d saved image as .png with alpha from PS, and double-checked and alpha is intact, yet when I do the “Save As…” from this site, background is white. Created a new image, maybe it will work this time?

Hi Kate,

Just so we’re on the same page – are you inserting the logo, or is the network simply providing a heads-up that THEY will be inserting a logo, perhaps so you don’t put any titles in the same area? I think it’s the latter, right?

Please find attached a 1920×1080 overlay that you could drop onto a higher video track in your Premiere timeline. It has a semi-transparent yellow box for the coordinates you provided (made this in PS). Hope it is correct. You could just toggle this layer on/off just to check your work, as a visual aid.

Hi Arten,

I’ve used a free software called MP4 Joiner, which combines 2 or more clips into one large clip. Works fast since it is not re-compressing the video, but rather just reworking some headers and pointers and such to combine the media you already have. So perhaps render in smaller, more manageable chunks and assemble later?

I’d hate to render a 24-hour timeline, then maybe find an error in editing or titling and have to render the whole segment again!

I have to stick up for Eric and say Peter, you don’t need to be rude if someone uses methods you don’t approve of. You’re certainly entitled to your opinion as to why you believe one method might be better than another, but you can lose the pompous attitude.

I’ve been a wedding/event videographer for 20+ years, and pocket recorders are extremely commonplace, and reliable, for that market. I used to use a wireless mic on the groom for years and years, and I lost count of how many times I’d have clean audio (monitored via headphone) all the way up until the moment the vows are about to start, then the static would kick in! It was like Murphy’s Law or something. And I cannot stop the ceremony to do anything at all about it, so being able to monitor MEANS NOTHING at that point. I had many, many vows recordings ruined due to wireless issues. And of course one has to make sure that their frequency will not interfere with one being used by the church, etc. Not to mention FCC spectrum changes a few years ago which makes my existing investment in wireless mics illegal/obsolete.

Many years ago, these little iRiver recorders came out, about the size of a pack of chewing gum. Took one AA battery and recorded to .mp3 format. It would record for many hours on one battery, so if using a new battery for each wedding, never going to run out of juice. Impossible for the battery to get “dislodged”. And there is a REC LOCK switch, so that the wearer could not accidentally stop the recording once I had it set up and running. I typically put one unit on the groom, one on the minister and another on the podium for readings. I’ve never had such beautiful clean sound via wireless as I get with the cheap little iRiver units, using a specially wired lav from Giant Squid.

I have 3 of the iRiver units and none has ever failed me for any live event I recorded. PERFECT sound, clear of any interference. They unfortunately quit making those units like 10 or more years ago, but Zoom and the like has replaced them, though none are near as small!

To answer your question Eric, a wireless should have no effect on your recorder, I’ve never had any issue in that regard. Make sure everything is set up correctly, fresh battery, rec lock and should be good to go for success. Good advice from Mark.

Here is the simple solution. To change a title in any sequence without affecting that title used in other places, do this: Double-click the title in the sequence, which opens Titler. Click the “T” icon at upper left corner, which is New Title from Current Title.

Name it, then make any desired changes, and exit titler. You’ve just created a new, unique title which will appear in the Project Bin.

Immediately go back to original title in sequence (that you just changed) and right-click and select Replace with Clip > From Bin

This will replace the current instance of the title with the new one you just made. The original title is untouched and unchanged in any other sequence. Any effects that were applied to original title remain intact.

Just be careful to make sure you click the NEW button before modifying the title, as I sometimes forget and then I do overwrite the original! Once you do this process a few times, you will see how fast and easy it is.
