The Previews are TEMP files that have been generated using we-don’t-know-what format, and then the final export is being made from those temp files rather than the originals, adding another layer of compression. Re-compressing re-compressed video.

Why 1920×1106 resolution? I would go with standard 1920×1080 HD specs.
Your TARGET bitrate is….1. That is simply too low for 1080 HD video, no wonder it does not look good. You can have small file size, or you can have good quality. Pick one. Can’t have both.

“The maximum frame size that can be imported for still images and movies is 256 megapixels, with a maximum dimension of 32,768 pixels in either direction. ”
When applying motion using keyframes, use Ease In and Ease Out for smooth starts and stops.

The term target in this case means average. Having a higher max bitrate helps when there might be sudden changes in the video content which might spike the data rate.
For instance one might use Target 8, Max 10.

I just downloaded an .mp4 of a looping animation from VideoBlocks and played it in VLC and the loop point did show a nearly imperceptible bump, but I’m watching carefully for it and it’s nothing the casual observer would ever notice.
However, I then exported that same animation out of Premiere using the YouTube 1080p setting and played that file in VLC, and there is now a noticeable pause at the loop point, so you are on to something there! I just don’t know offhand what the solution might be yet.

I stand corrected, guess I’ve never tried a looping clip in VLC. I did notice that your video is not in standard HD size like 1920×1080, but rather is 1920×1200. Is that intentional?
Can you perhaps share a screen grab of the Export Settings panel for review?

I shoot at 60p in the US and then edit as 30p. When I want a clip slowed down, I just apply 50% speed and the results are beautiful! For normal-speed clips in the timeline, Premiere is really just using every other frame from source, so that works out fine and looks great.
Remember that if you shoot at 60p thinking you will get extra frames for slow-motion, consider that it will not divide cleanly for those 60p source clips that you wish to play normal speed at 25p. Going to mess things up. I’d just shoot 50p myself.

It would seem to me that any small hiccup/hesitation at the loop point would be a function of the media player and not the source clip.

November 2, 2017 at 8:51 pm in reply to: Video File Still Too Big After Export to Desired FormatAside from making a video shorter, the only way to make the file smaller is to reduce the bitrate. Period. I think the YT 1080 default rate is 16, so for instance 8 should cut the file size in half. Of course, this will reduce quality also, so do some SHORT sample exports and review to see what you think.
Depending on the content of your video, perhaps 720p HD quality is acceptable? Since there are less pixels per frame to encode (compress), you will be able to use a lower date rate than with 1080p and still keep the quality up.
Using VBR 2-Pass encoding will maximize the efficiency of the encoding.
