After you’ve setup compressor, click on the batch (not the individual video clip entry). The Inspector should show “Job Action.”

Change your Output Device to Hard drive and you’ll get a disk image that you should be able to reuse.

So, if you send over the material in 2 pieces it works, but in one it crashes?

Yeah, we’re shooting in the dark. My first instinct is to break it up into two QuickTime movies…and then sew those two together.

It’s sounds like there are a couple of speedbumps in what you’ve put together.

First, what are you outputting? An h.264 file? To go where? Knowing this is huge.

Screenflow gets the best quality at 1280×720 @ 23.976 fps (unless you’re doing something that specifically dictates a higher framerate/framesize.)

And then the idea is to match it exactly in Premiere Pro.

Yes, either platform is fine for QuickTime.

To generate ProRes you have to be on a Mac and you need a copy of any of the ProApps. The cheapest is Logic Studio.

But you can absolutely handle ProRes, cross platform without a mac and without owning FCP

If you’re going to cut your losses and go to Vegas…why not upgrade to the current version with a decent CUDA card. AVCHD works great with it.

I have two methods you could try.

1) How about you just push it to Adobe Media Encoder – no rendering. Adobe Media Encoder on CS5 & 5.5 will just ‘ignore’ your render files anyway (unless you choose “use previews” It still may crash (or it may be fine!)

2) Try the ‘divide’ and conquer method – you may have a piece of bad media.

Duplicate the original sequence twice.
Delete the first 1/2 the show. Render.
Delete the back 1/2 of the show. Render.

Work your way though until you find the bad clip.

Whoops. Is the “title” on the inspector. You have to choose the batch (neither of the entries) to be able to see/edit it.

Ok, I think there are two parts here.

First, I think what’s wrong is the cuda drivers in 10.6.6/7

I don’t know what the FIX MY RED FLASH thing does (I’m not able to go test it tonight…)

Basically, apple updates the drivers with the OS. Meaning you could wait months for an update for a graphic card.

You should figure out what graphic card is in your system and grab the latest drivers. You may want to also grab the current CUDA driver as well.

I downloaded the cuda driver for mac.
Then, I downloaded the driver for my card (MBP, 9600M) by checking the driver. (which you might not have to do.)

Last – no first, I’d suggest downloading the COMBO updater from apples site – 10.6.6 or 10.6.7 because reinstalling the COMBO update sometimes repairs odd shit.
