If you use markers (M the first time sets the marker, M the second time names the marker/changes the color) you can right click on the timelines strip and you can get a list of your markers allowing you to jump to that moment.

Just to add to what Chris said…

You’re blowing the PAL stuff up 6x – it’s going to look very pixellated. You might want to consider trying compressor to upscale these items (it’ll take a long time, requires decent knowledge of compressor and you’ll have to run experiments on the upscaling algorithm to see how satisfied you are with the results.)

Never use AIC if possible – always use ProRes.

Export via compressor – change the audio to mono should work just fine.

It’s not the mac – it’s FCP7 – it just was never designed (in 99) to work with long gop codecs terribly well. The general rule is to transcode.

FCPX, Premiere Pro and Avid don’t have this requirement – although all of them work hard in different ways to handle h.264 codecs.

Drag a clip to the timeline. FCP will ask you if you want the timeline to match. It will do this only for the first clip. If you’ve shot everything with the same camera – this should work beautifully…

Unless you’re working with a camera that shoots in h.264 – pretty much, you shouldn’t edit that directly in FCP, but rather transcode to prores.

I’m not 100% sure – I don’t have a Blackmagic card – but under Premiere Pro>Preferences> Player Settings you should be able to specify the BM card – and that’s where you’d likely find an offset.

You don’t say what version of Premiere Pro you’re using – what you’re describing sounds like a mismatch between your footage and your timeline.

In V.5 you drag a clip to the new document icon (on the bottom of the browser panel, in v 5.5 you can right click and say new sequence from clip.
