Usually, this is because the speed of the vertical motion (I’m assuming vertical credits) from AE. You want them going at the specific velocity of 60/120/180/240 etc in NTSC…even in HD.Fast Import:
After that, when you generate your DNxHD file from AE, as a QuickTime, you should see the words “Fast Import” when you import it into MC. If you’ve ‘done it right’ with the render in AE and the Import Settings in MC, then the avid merely unwraps the video from QuickTime and rewraps into MXF.Best,

Thought I’d chime in. Avid has some tutorials on their own site you may have missed.
Please note, one is called FCP to Avid….

I doubt it. The third party software has always been separate upgrade prices.

I was thinking drivers for your third party hardware. You said it’s fine in Lion with the internal microphone in Audition – that leads me to suspect something odd with your other hardware + lion that only exhibits in Audition.

Two quick thoughts (I’ve seen the hardware you have on the other forums.) Possibly a driver is out of date. Possibly it’s lion. I keep a hard drive with Snow Leopard ‘built’ on it (never know when you might need it.) If you don’t have one, why not spend the 30-40 min it takes to install SL on a drive.
But if there is no problem with the built in microphone, it’s likely to be one of the external interfaces/microphones you’re using. Or not. you could be 100% right too. If it’s only adobe, have you updated to the latest versions?

I played around for the last 20 min or so – couldn’t get it to work; doesn’t mean that it doesn’t, just that i need to dig up some notes. I quickly did 3-4 clips + ama over in avid. I know you have to pick legacy AAF format…
If I get a break tomorrow, I’ll look again. Just try to get one clip to go over (and maybe start in Avid and test to Premiere Pro and back – not for your project, but to understand the workflow.)

Is the audio out of sync in QuickTime? What if you make a different file format? I just am curious if it’s out of sync just for h.264 or for everything?

Export an AAF, use AMA to reconnect the R3D files? I haven’t tried that, but it could/should work. If you try that and it doesn’t work (Using MC5 or later?) I’ll build something just to test it.

Do you get the ticking when you record on the iMac’s internal microphone? I know, awful mike, but I’m just curious.
