Too difficult without knowing the end system;
But if it’s windows 7, h.264 will play with windows media player. I’d work at the full quality of the video – HD, whatever flavor. Let the Playback system downgradee the signal for the projector.
Yes, idea would be a dead on setting just a little smaller than the projector/laptop type – but since you can’t control these, the next best bet is to go native video and downscale.
Of course, I’d absolutely send a sample for someone to test.

This is not a recommended workflow…
In the console type “alldrives”. Your network share should show up.
I’d suggest sharing the drive on your desktop and using ethernet cables through the router.

I’d suggest the BCC effects – one of the glows should do it. Since the neon lights are the brightest…you’d play with the threshold and animate that.

For the record, if you get it setup right, it should fast import (copy and rewrap the ProRes as MXF Prores.) Otherwise, Jacob is right – you just want to Link and not import.

What preset are you starting with?
On the video tab, you can type the exact size of your finished work.

Jennifer, it shouldn’t be falling out of sync. You can certainly try the ProRes preset in Compressor. Many people are using MPEGStreamclip from squared5.com – it’s free and basically uses QuickTime to get the same job done.

I’ve been running Lion +FCP7/X for six months now without problems – so you could partition – I’d suggestion 100 or so gigs, but I wouldn’t bother at this point. Also, some of my ‘accessory’ apps, like photoshop would have to be deactivated, reboot, switch partitions, activate, etc.
Just not worth it.

Just one. Try creating a 3d project first and bringing the bins to it; this may open up the ability to make the modifications you want. I’m guessing the project you have isn’t 3d (and that’s why it’s not working.
