Particles could be done any number of ways…..3D or 2D…
Water does not look like RealFlow….too unnatural in its motion and spreading.
More likely a simple 3D particle system using a blobmesh as a particle….

There really isnt a magic workflow for this.
You cant just create a bunch of scenes in 3-space and then fly between them
You must pre-plan your moves and scenes…..then animate a rough camera move to go between them.
The subtle polish of the motion, use of mblur to shield bg transitions and…etc…etc.

Specifically regarding the camera it just depends. Not all of it is 3D camera work at all. Moving your scenes around while the cam stays in place….in some instances moving your foreground scenes while your BG stays in place…etc..etc.
There is no specific ‘way’ to animate the entire spot. It simply requires planning and more planning….

With regard to cam only: Parent cam to 3D null. Add seperate x,y,z animation transform preset to null. Animate the x,y,z transform effect and not the cam.

These are the ‘rant’ series of spots originated at Ringside for JWT.
No special techniques here……proficiency with AE ofcourse (obviously including camera control).

    Otherwise, everyone already said it.
Having just worked on one of these,…the best workflow is to design your type frames very loosely. Then rough out the camera motion for the type. Then go back and start filling in details.
The transitions are key. From side profile to overhead…etc..etc.

    ah,…Topaz, Tips and Rio….single framing to 3/4 via a BCD-2000 frame controller……….man, what a trip.

October 29, 2009 at 2:33 pm in reply to: Tutorial or tips on complex 3D camera movements in AE

    Stock answer:

Created 3D null object. Parent camera to null.
Apply ‘separate x,y,x’ animation preset controller to the null.
Animate this effect on the null to move your camera.

The core problem is always that a key set on the cam position affects x,y,z at every keyframe,….which is far from ideal when working with complex motion.
This technique allows for much more control as well as sweet curves unique to respective x,y,z motion.

Create null object turn on 3D for that layer.
    Create camera.
    Parent camera to null.
Apply “seperate x,y,x animation controller” to null.

Animate via this controller. Only way to get seperate keyframes/controls over the x,y,z positions.

    Good luck.

I have the WD Caviars. They are quite nice.

IMHO with 3 drives I would do a RAID 5. You get the great speed of a 2 drive RAID 0, BUT you are protected from data loss.

Personally I am 2 drive RAID 0, but I was ignorant to the RAID 5 when I set this up. 1080HD UC in AE is very fast.

    Yes…RPF is very limited.

    You want Max2AE by Boomerlabs.com
All objects, lights, camera settings..etc…all animated parameters from MAX into AE.
And actually from AE into Max as well. Go back and forth tweaking lights, cameras. object animations..etc..etc.

    Extremely powerful….
