That may have been good advice in 1990. These days, software and programmers know how to anti-alias text pretty well.
Work at your deliverable size to speed things up.-Jeff

Use your keyed FG layer as a track matte for an un-altered, un-keyed FG layer. Still might have to fuss with some shadows, though.

I believe chromatic aberration would not be exhibited in that way. What you have looks more like moire artifacts from compression, i.e., I don’t think a new lens would help.

The only downside I’ve found with PNGs in AE is that they are a bit slower to read & write than TIFFs (not sure about TGAs; haven’t tested yet). A small issue if you are using file sequences. The upside of PNGs is efficient lossless encoding, plus the alpha channel.

I’m curious where your source footage is coming from that you have 1080 59.94P ? The common HD rates are of course, 720/59.94P or 1080/29.97P.
Not sure you’ll find a PPro preset for 59.94P.

You can buy (I’m not making this up) “dulling spray.” It’s removable, and is used in film/video production to kill specular reflections. Might damp down the GS cymbals enough to help. One version brand is Krylon.
