Short answer – no, you can’t do that without a glass master and disc replication.
In truth, you are wasting your time trying to prevent people from copying your DVDs.
Hollywood has a huge financial incentive to prevent copying, yet every time a new protection scheme is developed, savvy computer guys figure out how to break the protection. They often do this within days of the scheme first appearing on disc.
I suppose that some copy protection can prevent casual copying by users who decide it’s not worth the trouble when they first find out that they can’t just copy the DVD files to their hard drive. But anyone with even an ounce of determination will find tools that will break whatever protection scheme is in use.
If I were you, I’d save my money for other facets of my business. I don’t think copy protection represents a significant chunk of a Hollywood movie’s budget, but it sure does represent a significant investment in my business (and probably yours).

The error module might indicate a sound card driver problem, or maybe a conflict with installed VST plug-ins.
Try updating your sound card driver first.

This indicates you may have additonal issues to solve in PPro.

If you have transcoded a DVD-compliant mpeg2 file in PPro, then Encore should not transcode it. If Encore is transcoding the file anyway, then that is another indication something is not right in PPro.
Try exporting from PPro as a DV .avi file, then importing that into Encore and letting Encore transcode it to a DVD mpeg2 file.
As always, keep your test exports short (a few minutes of your PPro timeline should be enough) so that you can try more things more quickly.

I don’t know if it’s a bug. I don’t know if you are doing something wrong.
Chapter index menus have been in 2 versions now, and I’ve never used the feature nor seen a time when I might want to use it. But that’s just me. 🙂
The Help docs were a bit confusing – I had to read them a third time before I thought I understood what had to be done. If you want, you can try rebuilding your chapter index menus again in case you missed anything the first go-round.

The content for the Encore Library is in a separate installer in the downloaded version. The same may be true for the boxed version.
If you picked and chose the bits you wanted to install, you may have missed the content installer altogether, or you may not have installed other necessary bits. Install the entire suite/collection using all of the installers and see if your Library becomes populated.

1. Import uncompressed .avi files into Encore and let Encore transcode them.
2. Export from Premiere Pro as BR H264 and then import that into Encore.

Absolutely. It’s the program I use to burn my Encore images. I almost never burn directly from Encore. GEARPro Professional & Mastering supports multiple burners, so if you have more than one burner on your system, or if you ever build your own dupe tower, you can use GEAR to burn to all drives simultaneously.

I use GEARPro Professional, but if you ever need precise and complete control over the layer break, or being able to verify that an Encore DLT image was written correctly, then you will need GEARPro Mastering. It isn’t cheap.
