Are you using ac3 audio?
Dolby recommends at least 2 seconds of “audio black” at the beginning of an audio track to give the player’s decoder a chance to lock on to the stream and decode it.
Since some players’ decoders are better than others, it may be worth testing in a wider range of players.

You’d be surprised at the number of users who, by changing media, slowing their burn speed, updating the firmware on their burners or dropping the bit rate, make their problems go away. For them, that is the bottom of the problem.
I suggested those steps to Graham because, until he posted his “resume”, I had no idea what his level of experience with Encore or DVD authoring was.

If you want better reliability for your finished DVDs, you must spend the money to get them replicated.
Burning has always been, and remains even today, a hit-or-miss proposition.
Book type, media, burner, firmware, burn speed, player type, player firmware and encoded bit rates can all have very negative effects on the finished product.
Think that’s bad? Just wait until you try creating home-made (or office-made) Blu-Ray discs. Sony are probably laughing their executive hind-quarters off.

Yes. You can’t hear multiple audio tracks at the same time like you can in a NLE.

It might be best if you could post a screen shot showing both the problem button in the Menu viewer and the button layer set in the Layers panel.
If you can’t, then the next question is: are you sure the (%) layer is *inside* the button layer set?
