Arg this problem has been bugging me for quite a while now. With every DVD I create with encore the audio always seems to start about 2 seconds after the video starts playing, it is still in sync but there is a big 2 second audio gap where there is no sound before it just kicks in… It doesnt appear when I am just previewing the DVD before it is built, and it is usually fine when watching it on a computer, but when I put the DVD into a DVD player, it always has that 2 second audio delay problem. Does anyone else have this problem? and how can I stop it from happening?
Thanks in advance, I find this forum is always the best place to get answers 😀

    Are you using ac3 audio?

Dolby recommends at least 2 seconds of “audio black” at the beginning of an audio track to give the player’s decoder a chance to lock on to the stream and decode it.

Since some players’ decoders are better than others, it may be worth testing in a wider range of players.

Okay thanks. And is there any audio codec that doesnt need that 2 second audio black.

Linear PCM audio doesn’t, but it will chew up a lot of disc space.

MPEG Layer 2 (.mp2) audio doesn’t, but it is an optional format according to the spec and some players won’t play it.
