Adobe switched from using the Production Aperture to the Clean Aperture starting in CS4. According to the BBC (and others), that was the technically accurate thing to do.

Make sure both the Library panel and the Menu Viewer are open and accessible. Drag your button from the menu to the Library. En will ask you to name the new Library asset. Once you name it, it will always be available in the Library for future use.

If you added audio to those static menus, then En will transcode them as video menus. You don’t have any control over that bit rate, which should come out to about 23 Mbps for BD.

What you’re seeing on your TV is called Overscan and all consumer televisions have it to some degree.
The key is to keep your text within the Title Safe Area.
The pillarboxing is normal for CS4 and CS5 because of Adobe’s switch from the Production Aperture to the Clean Aperture.

You can use Send to Encore *if* you set Use Maximum Render Quality for the Transcode Setting that you’re using.

In CS5, it’s as simple as exporting to MPEG2 DVD. Do make sure to check the “Use Maximum Render Quality” option in the Export Settings dialog.

Delete the AuthorScriptHDMVSessions folder that’s in the En project folder and try again.

The dashed line means that link has been overridden and will not be executed. Change all overrides in your project to “Not Set”. Your navigation problems should go away.

When you make changes to a motion menu, you have to render the menu again to preview the changes.
