Change the display in the timeline to audio units, and make sure any audio is unlinked from the video. You can then place the audio in between frames.

Put all of the jpegs into one folder, then add that folder to the DVD-ROM content control under the Disc tab in Encore.

Problem 1: Use “Return to Last Menu” instead of specifically naming the menu.
Problem 2: Check your button routing. Click on the Show Button Routing button at the bottom of the Menu Viewer.

Highlights only have 4-bit color depth, or 16 colors. You cannot have a soft mask for the highlights. That’s a limitation of the DVD specification, not just Encore.

If your project is a DV project, then Premiere decompresses/recompresses everything into DV for display in the Monitor Panel.
A lossless alternative to uncompressed .avi is the HuffYUV codec, and once it’s installed, you can set up a Premiere project using that codec through the Custom Desktop editing mode.
Encore will happily accept an .avi file that uses the HuffYUV codec. That way you get to use Encore’s automatic transcoding to match the bitrate to your available disc space on the DVD.
You can also export from Premiere Pro to a DVD-compliant mpeg 2 file that can be authored/burned by just about any authoring/burning application.
Bottom line: DV doesn’t have to be involved at all if you don’t want it to be.

This is almost certainly the result of other software interfering with Encore and preventing it from getting exclusive access to your burner.
