We are having the same issue with the picture being squeezed on SD 4×3 sequences since we upgraded to CS6 and BlackMagic v9.5 driver. The Decklink HD Extreme card outputs the SD video squeezed. HD video output looks fine. I called Blackmagic support a week ago and they did not have a fix. They said they would inform the product manager of the problem. Until there is a fix we have gone back to using CS5.5 and Blackmagic v9.2 driver.

BM does not have v9.5.1 for Windows. They only have v9.5

Yes, I did use the Blackmagic speed test and that is how I arrived at the numbers (274mb read and 100.7mb write). I am trying to figure out WHY the internal raid controller on the motherboard worked for the past 6 months with no problems at all until last week. It sounds like we’ll have to purchase a good external controller to resolve the issue. The raid was built internally by the integrator to save us dollars but now its costing us productivity. Thank you for your input.

I have tried capturing using the 8Bit uncompressed setting and I still have dropped frames. It will capture for :10 to 1:00 of footage and then it will drop frames. Also, I have captured using Black Magic’s Media Express instead of CS4 Premiere and I still get dropped frames.
I don’t believe the raid drives are bad because I’ve used Windows disc check and Intels Raid Manager to check the drives for bad clusters and it passes the tests. As for system CPU resources when you capture and look at the Task Manager hardley any CPU or RAM resources are being used.
Does anyone have any ideas for what else we can look for to help solve this issue?

Our new system we got in late December which has 7.5 driver and CS4 Premiere running on Vista 64 is having problems like you describe. If we try and edit with any BlackMagic uncompressed SD codecs like 8bit, 10bit or MJEPG the video will be jerky on disolves. Plus it will not playback uncompressed AVI with an alpha channel. It’s strange; you can see the video with the alpha channel when you step frame-by-frame through the timeline but it will not show up at all when you play on either premiere or Decklink monitors.
If we encode video as BlackMagic DV codec everything works fine. I’m not sure if it is Decklink hardware or Premiere causing issues. Using the BlackMagic speed test we have over 300MBs read speed and over 190MBs write speed. So I really don’t think the disk raid is causing issues. Has anyone else ran into this problem?????

The majority of my projects have been uncompressed 8-bit. Also, I have mixed some DV in a 8-bit project and have not encountered any problems.
