I’m about to get my Magewell HDMI to USB3 dongle
by mail early next week and I’ll keep you informed
of what I learned.

The HDMI video signal (stream) could come from a HD camera
with a live HDMI output or from one of my PC HDMI output cables.
It doesn’nt matter. That HDMI signal will feed my Magewell HDMI
to USB3.0 capture dongle, be read and sent to my PC thru USB3.
My question was:
Is VP13 able to record (capture) that HDMI signal from the Magewell
dongle and if it does what are the menu steps to get that HDMI
captured ?

It shows how to capture (and record) an external HDMI video signal
thru a USB 3.0 capture dongle made by Avermedia.

It works.

Ok so if I figure to move on with a Xeon dual core
what would be a good motherboard choice for me.
I really like the Asus ones but cannot tell
which one I could use..

Any suggestions ?

Hi Norman,

I found and downloaded the ‘MediaInfo version 0.7.69’ utility installer on the web. When I tried to install it my ESET Node32 antivirus detected the following malware:

‘Conduit Search Protect’ toolbar installer.

and erased it.

I cannot find a MediaInfo installer earlier than ver 0.7.69
that would not be infected..
Do you have a web link ?

But I’m a neebie in these all different video
formats, parameters, specifications to check..

I don’t think its a native H.264 format..
In fact, when I downloaded it, it came out in MP4 format.
Is-it the same as H.264 ?
One thing that would help me a lot is to have the correct
Vegas rendering settings for that specific video and an explaination for them to actually get the least of lost of video quality.
Then I could expand what I learned to other video rendering
vs their native format and know what I’m doing..

P.S. Any books filled with explainations on
rendering, video tweeking with examples available ??

I’ll try tonite a MPG2 rendering using constant video bitrate of around 1mb/sec keeping the 640×480 aspect ratio
and check the final result (pleasing or not…)
