    Hello Michael,

    A bit late but,
have you found a way to do it with expresso?
I am presently about to learn xpresso for that vey purpose. I can do it in AFX but it is mindboggingly slow…
    Thanks!

    Dear Dan,

Many thanks for this script that does exactly what I need to do. You are definitely the champion of AE scripting.

I do program quite a bit myself but, for some reason, I seem to have a serious JavaScript blockage. Perhaps it is the difficulty of passing variable values from one evaluation to the next…

In any case, many many thanks. I will spending tomorrow trying to figure out how you did this!

Thanks so much Dave and Walter.

I still need to do some more experimenting but it looks as though Dave marks a point with the virtual core business. Reducing the number of cores to 8 sped up the crunching by a huge amount and brought it back to where it should have been in the first place. That is the only thing I tried. Haven’t given the “secret menu” approach a try yet. But right now, I am at least getting some performance. Perhaps it would be worth a place in a FAQ of some kind about the virtual cores… Adobe is, as far as I can tell, silent on the issue.

    Best!
