Right, but do you think larger production houses use AFX and Shake because they get better results than possible with Motion or LiveType, or because the range of creative freedom is greater with those programs? In my experience producing advertising for television, simpler is often better when it comes to graphics and titles. Is a program like Motion or Livetype inferior for creating work for broadcast?

All settings match, and I used easy set up – tried DVCPro HD codec as well. Think the issue is Firewire related. Tryin to source an external drive that spins 7200rpm with FW800 port.

Thanks for the input… that’s one thing I still haven’t put together is a 7200 rpm external drive winth FW800 on both ends… working on it…

Same thing… dropped frames warning immediately. 7200 RPM LaCie external drive, imported one 10sec HDV clip off of it into FCP on MBPro. No dice.

Just tried using a 7200 rpm lacie external drive, imported one HDV clip off of it into FCP on my MacBook and same thing… dropped frames warning as soon as I try to play the clip… any suggestions?

Besides an X Serve, do you know of another portable external drive that would work for this purpose?
