    Crucial dates:

    April 9 – 14 NAB Show

If nothing is announced within this timeframe(and I don’t care if its for a Summer release, just announce something!) then I’ll start complaining…

Now back to your regularly scheduled program….

Jeremy, how’s the el gato compare to a mxo2 mini w/ max for h.264 acceleration?

Would I be able to use the MXO’s DVI output to work as a second display for FCP dual monitoring editing? (not as a video monitor but as a second monitor to expand my FCP windows as I will go component out to my PVM-14L5). thanks again.

    So Shane,

The only way to monitor/ and use an esata raid at the same time such as with a caldigit vr mini from a Macbook Pro will be with an iohd or the motu?(FCP editing, no Color)? When using an mxo2 mini for monitoring, were limited to a firewire raid solution? Thanks for clearing things up.

I too would like an FSI but am saving up for one. How did the PVM look compared to the FSI? Was there a considerable difference? Thanks again Shane.

Thank you Shane. So it is accurate enough? Thanks.

    Walter,

Which Panasonic Consumer Model#’s are we talking about? Were you able to compare the picture quality between the pro and consumer models? You’ve been advocating the Pro models for years so I’m surprised but happy that the consumer version will do just fine. =) I too would like a client preview monitor to use while editing on my pvm-14l5. thanks.

Great info John. What would you recommend as a fill to complete this setup? Thanks!

I started with Adobe Premiere in 1997 and what a horrible experience it was in long projects. Seeing that it got recoded and redone as well as hearing all the positive reviews, especially seemless integration with Photoshop and After Effects. I am ready to switch over back to adobe if the time were to come to an end with FCP. But seems FCP is not ready to to bail on us just yet. So FCP is my only editing choice of generating income for now.

  • Thanks David. I’ll look into this.
