Thanks for the photos Moody? Did you happen to stop by the Caldigit or istorage pro booths? Haven’t heard anything TB related from them. Thanks!

Thanks Jeremy! Just wondering now if I should save the money of purchasing a 17″ MBP and just go with a 2011 15″ Macbook Pro without the need of an express card slot…I mainly use the express card slot w/ my mxo2 mini…but now with their Thunderbolt adaptor…hmmm…

All I know is that these are exciting times! FCP 2011, please don’t let us down….

My thoughts exactly why I started this thread Andy as you mentioned I/O manufacturers adding the option of TB connectivity. I’m assuming those currently using an MXO2 mini w/ an express card would be able to simply buy a TB connector instead of purchasing a whole new MXO2 Mini w/ TB?

I’m convinced that the express card slot is important. Will go with the 17″ Macbook Pro. 🙂

So it’s the current port’s limitation and not the cable? When optical fiber cables are available, the 2011 Macbook Pros will still be limited to 10Gbps?

That is a much better solution!(not the cotton buds 😉 So I’m wondering if the 2011 Macbook Pro’s would be able to take advantage of Thunderbolt’s optical fiber speed of 100gbps once available? ie: is the current TB port limited to10gbps or will it be able to take advantage of 100gbps optical fiber in the future?

Seeing the new Macbook Pros benchmarks from Primate Labs and Barefeats is quite impressive! Maybe there wil be some refresh of Mac Pros and/or imacs with Thunderbolt built in as well. This Thunderbolt technology may end myself from being limited to using firewire 800 RAIDS. I would be able to use an MXO 2 mini through the expresscard slot out to my monitor and have a Thunderbolt RAID connected. Or the MXO2 mini connected through Thunderbolt to my monitor and the expresscard slot being used with an esata RAID.

2011 looks to be an exciting year for video/editing enthusiasts/pros. I will simply wait until NAB to see any further announcements of cameras, editing supported devices, and something awesome!(hopefully).
