Thanks Brian, just to clarify… If I hide certain points within an object then these points are not applicable to the soft movement of other points within that same object?

Found it…under project settings view clipping.
Gracias!

Do you have a parent object or are you selecting all of the objects together and scaling. In your scale menu (attributes) you’ll see a few settings under modeling axis-axis (drop-downs) I haven’t seen your model so its hard to tell from here but sounds like you need to change a few settings. One thing you can do is make a parent object (like a null object or the center of the wagon wheel. Make the other parts children to that object. Then under you scaling menu set to selected (make sure you have your center object or null selected).

Hi there,
You have a few options. You can off-set the texture in the Attributes Manager. Click once on the texture tag for the the cube object in your Object Manager, this will open the the tag in your attributes manager. There you will see U (horizontal) & V (vertical) offset, just play with the percent to move you texture and place it where you see fit.
If this becomes an issue you can always map your texture in BP-UV edit. This of course is an entire can of worms that will have to be learned if you haven’t already. Use the Setup Wizard to get your tex started.
Here is a fairly good tut if your interested:

Hope this helped in some way.

Hi Adam, thanks for your help. After some testing I don’t think that this is the problem. If I disable the plane which the grass sits on the hair renders fine (though the sky can be seen through it), i.e. the actual grass strands do not change color or hue midstream. I suppose I could just composite two images in Photoshop but then I would not know where the original problem was.
I have tried setting the plane to black with no specular to see what happens. And as I suspected it is not a dark line in the horizon but that same light line which discolors the grass. I have GI turned off on both sides, the plane as well as grass and that didn’t work either; so I don’t think GI is at the root of my problem. I will beef up the hair count density map it and try your suggestion.

Its funny but once again I solved the problem but for this picture only. I just mapped an alpha channel to the portion of the grass parent (the plane) that was giving me the problem. However, I’m still not entirely happy with the results…so I guess its not a real solution!
So Adam, if your reading this, I have usually found solutions to most of my problems with either your advice, the manual, a few others, blind luck, or intuitive experimenting. This one has me stumped and I’m determined to find the answer one way or the other, anything you can find or suggest is greatly appreciated!
