Is there a way, even possible, to freeze specific points within an object? I.e. can I say, freeze all the vertices located at 0-degrees along the X axis of an object. I would like to soft model some stuff, and of course I could go ahead and do it and then move the points via snapping or even individually, just painstaking at times. I would rather freeze the points to begin with.

make a selection first and work within the selection or hide the points you want to freeze before you start

Thanks Brian, just to clarify… If I hide certain points within an object then these points are not applicable to the soft movement of other points within that same object?
