  • Well, it’s almost been 6 months and BM still has not addressed this issue. I guess I’ll be buying an AJA converter. I just think it’s ridiculous that they offer it as an option and it doesn’t work on the V2 converters.

Thanks Jeff, I did try that. Unfortunately the new V2 hardware does not allow for going back very far in the firmware. I rolled it back as far as would work on the hardware. Still nothing.

  • Thanks Michel, the V1 BM converters are compliant and work fine. The problem is I only have three of them. The five new ones (V2) do not change when adjusting the Betacam or IRE dip switches. It took a week but finally Black Magic has admitted there is an issue and is “working on it”. I need them to fix the firmware or find me a V1 converter. If they can’t then I guess it’s onto AJA which I know works correctly as well.

That’s great! Is there an possibility that a future firmware for the Atem1 will allow for EMEM or snapshot?

Ok, I got the HDMI out of the KiPro working. It seems that the Atem wants the sources to be on before it starts up. I now have video from the KiPro into the ATEM.

I still for the life of me can not figure out how to get component SD from a Beta deck into the HDMI input.

As far as I know the extender does not do RGB. We have tried this several times with our Barco Screenpro and get nothing. We ended up getting the BM HDMI to sdi converter and used a dvi to HDMI cable. I don’t know if it will handle 4:4:4 but it definitely does rgb.

If you have the switcher and the control panel you can switch the power supplies between the two units. This can help you trounleshoot the issue. If you have absolutely no lights or anything ( on the control panel) the power supply is probably the issue.
