You can up-convert with MPEG Streamclip. I did that a couple of months ago with an SD DVD and it looked pretty good. It all depends on how good the image is to start with.

[Glen Jennings] “So I’ve got some dark HD footage that was shot with a Canon 7D that I’m stuck working with and I need to pull out the image. I can bring out the images alright using the Levels Filter in Final Cut but its got a lot of video noise etc.
Does anybody have any recommended filter techniques etc? I know there’s not that much you can really do but it’s a fairly common problem and I’d be interested in any advice.”
How about the under-utilized “Smack the DP Upside the Head -‘Cause What Was He Thinking?!” filter?

You want to use the histogram to judge exposure rather than the relative brightness of the screen.

The good news is that you may be able to find a Thunderbolt to Parallel Port adapter so you can eke out a few more months of use from your old system.

I’ve been shooting with the GH2 for a couple of months now. It is an EVIL camera… (Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens). I have yet to use the viewfinder because the LCD is so nice.
