While I’m not shooting stills & video exactly simultaneously, on some shoots I am utilizing (and being paid for) both capabilities. I’m doing an ongoing series of physician interviews for a large medical entity. Normally, they would have the doctors go in to a photo studio for headshots that go on the website and ID badge. But, since I’m already setting up nice lighting and doing an interview I can easily switch my GH2 over to photo mode and get some high res headshots. I get paid extra and they save the trouble of having to schedule the doctor for one more thing. It’s a win-win! My Panasonic GH2 has paid for itself more quickly than any other camera I have owned in over a decade in this business –while enabling me to deliver a higher quality product.

Sorry about that; my GH2 uses SD cards. I’m not sure what the speed designations are for Compact Flash.

When you say Class 10 or Extreme II, is that going to be listed on a card or does class 10 simply serve as a class descriptor but the cards themselves will not indicate that – rather just be a certain speed, etc?”
I can’t believe you sent the camera off without trying a different card first. Can you say “basic troubleshooting”? The faster cards generally show the class designation because that’s the big selling point. These are the cards I got: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002HFER6O Wow… just checked the price and it has dropped $30 bucks since December. Compared to P2, these babies are dirt cheap!

Did you have Premiere CS5 working with your LHe? Can’t get it to work here and no response from AJA support.

Grab a Sandisk class 10 card and give that a whirl. If you get the same problem, you know it’s not the card.
