[Nick Griffin] “And yes, not having more control over the thumbnail is irritating.”
Youtube does allow you to upload custom thumbnails. You can export any frame from your video and use it as the thumbnail; or any other image you care to use.

November 26, 2014 at 7:15 pm in reply to: how to set up website for video and photo biz[Craig Alan] “Vimeo seems like the go to video hosting site. So many sites will embed/link to them. Some seem to object to their logo in the bottom corner of the video. “
Craig; with a Vimeo Pro account, you can set up a custom portfolio site and use your purchased domain name with it. https://vimeo.com/help/faq/organizing-your-videos/portfolios#how-do-i-set-up-a-custom-domain-for-my-vimeo-pro-portfolio
No need to have a separate site. You can also customize the player and put your own logo in there if you wish.Jason Jenkins

November 24, 2014 at 4:11 pm in reply to: Rant: Charge me or charge the advertisers — NOT BOTHI’ll throw my thoughts in here, even though at 42 I’m not young anymore. We have no cable, no antenna, no subscriptions. We average less than 1 movie rental a month from iTunes. Watched on either my 17″ Macbook Pro, or more recently, a 40″ HDTV hooked up to my Mac Pro in my home studio. We also get out 2 or 3 times a year to see movies in the theater.
With five kids ranging from 11 to 1 yrs, we have built-in entertainment 24/7!

[Andy Neil] “Well, I suppose you could re-open the old event and reconvert it for 10.1.3 use and then just steal the .fcpevent file to put in the library on your raid? Maybe that’ll help.”
Thanks, Andy! Got things sorted.

[Andy Neil] “Have you tried opening the library in the finder to see if the media is actually gone or if you just have a corrupt .fcpevent file?”
It looks like everything that should be in the library is there.
[Andy Neil] “Also, if you moved from a disk image to a RAID the default would be a copy, so does that mean you still have the disk image with the original library?”
I moved, didn’t copy. But I did save the old events and projects folders.

I just picked up a SwingChair on craigslist for $80 bucks. I’ve only had it for a day, but so far I love it. The armrests are very adjustable and the seat and back ‘follow’ you wherever you go!

I finally made the connection! My Panasonic cordless phone & base station were sitting on the lower tier of the desk, 18″ below the left speaker. I moved the phone to a different spot in the office and no more crackling speaker!
I thank you Richard. My OCD thanks you! Good night.
