I have an older project that I updated to work in FCPX 10.1.3. Then I made the mistake of moving it from the disk image onto my RAID using the finder instead of FCPX. Now I can open the library in FCPX, but neither event nor media shows up. FCPX sees it as an empty library. How do I fix this?!

Have you tried opening the library in the finder to see if the media is actually gone or if you just have a corrupt .fcpevent file?

Also, if you moved from a disk image to a RAID the default would be a copy, so does that mean you still have the disk image with the original library?

[Andy Neil] “Have you tried opening the library in the finder to see if the media is actually gone or if you just have a corrupt .fcpevent file?”

It looks like everything that should be in the library is there.

[Andy Neil] “Also, if you moved from a disk image to a RAID the default would be a copy, so does that mean you still have the disk image with the original library?”

I moved, didn’t copy. But I did save the old events and projects folders.

Well, I suppose you could re-open the old event and reconvert it for 10.1.3 use and then just steal the .fcpevent file to put in the library on your raid? Maybe that’ll help.

[Jason Jenkins] “I moved, didn’t copy.”

At the very least this should be a abject lesson on the benefits of copying over moving.

What hot key is it to move instead of the default copy? Wait… I don’t want to even know!

    Thanks, Andy! Got things sorted.
