    sorry i meant using the 1394 connection to directly have useble files to edit with FCP go directly from my camera to my G5’s hard drive.

    I think there is supposedly a new plug in for the P2 importer in FCP that allows for the removal of duplicate frames?… i could be mistaken, but doesn’t the existing one that you told me to download from Panasonic (frame rate converter) give you this option too?

    is there anything i can do to process recordings of other frame rates such as 48, or even 12p?

    Thanks for the tip Shane, I’m going to try it out right now… just a quick question though, is it worth the upgrade cost right now for FCP 5.1.1?
