Cannot record directly to FCP
I can’t seem to record directly to FCP using a 1394 firewire connection from a HVX200, without the camera delclaring a “no connection” — do i need an upgrade?(currently) 5.0.4… any thoughts?

This camera captures using a P2 card. You need to be able to read the clips on the card and import those clips to FCP. You do not capture as they are already clips.

sorry i meant using the 1394 connection to directly have useble files to edit with FCP go directly from my camera to my G5’s hard drive.

You MUST switch FCP to “Uncontrollable Device”.

On Page 84 ( i think) of the manual it shows exactly how to get your files from the camera to the hd.
