    Hey, guys-

    Dave-
Thanks for the info! Very good to know. With my case, all the footage I am using is ProRes 422 and it’s a template “donut” sequence that I’ve been using for 3 years on a show I work on. Until now, I have never had a problem with it.

    Kevin-
It appears that one of my third party components (codecs) was messing with the Animation codec. Why? How? And why now? I have no idea. So I went through and removed all the third party codecs that I know I don’t need, moved them to the desktop, restarted AFX and voila, everything rendered normal.

    Thanks very much, guys!

    Cheers,
    Jason

    July 14, 2008 at 4:52 pm in reply to: MPEG-1/VCD vs. MPEG-2?

    Hey, Dave-

Yes, I have, and have explained that MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 are a bit like apples and oranges, but they insist that they need a “MPEG-1/VCD at the MPEG-2 specs.”

Before I replied back to them, I wanted to do some fact checking with COW people to make sure I wasn’t giving out bad information.

So, do I have it right? This spec is kooky, correct? MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 are like apples and oranges, yes?

    Thanks!

February 29, 2008 at 5:06 pm in reply to: Change settings for logged clips?

Thanks, Chris – I tried that but FCP tells me my clips don’t “fit that description”

    Anyway, what I did was:

    1) Change my capture settings to what I wanted (1V, 2A)
    2) Select the bin I want to capture
    3) Right click, select “Batch Capture”
    4) In Batch Capture Window, UN-check the box for “Use logged clip settings”
    5) FCP will then capture at whatever your current settings are

    Thanks!
