I had an interesting situation that may or may not be applicable in this case. I had a raid card, and a raid 0 (backed up as well) and I swapped out my video card and my raid was gone. I fiddled with it for a long time and came to terms that I had lost data. I had one last thought, pulled out my raid card and the raid was back online. Turned out that I had set up a software raid and apparently when I swapped out the video card it initialized the raid card? It was bizarre, but I did have a raid card in my machine with a software raid running.

Thank you Craig…I’m overwhelmed because I’ve had to jump into this XDCAM workflow using both EX and Disc based formats…I’m still trying to wrap my head around workflow with this tapeless stuff.

Maybe I’m not using it correctly then…my card just shows “incomplete clip” … if I put the other card in, it asks me to add the previous card…I only have one slot to ingest cards.

We just had a presenter at our Indianapolis Final Cut Pro user group show us “ShotPut Pro”

It’s a verification process that works for P2, XDCAM, and the other tapeless…it was interesting…

I’ve not converted several files, so I can’t add to your experience. It seems to be working for me…if I find continued issues, I’ll make sure to post back to this thread and see if you found a solution.

In about as many ways as you can possibly conceive!

Most of the time…the problem is disguised in a “problem with final cut” question…

– My video won’t play back to my monitor smoothly
-I have a red line needing to render even though settings match footage

Try playing in VLC, if they can play then I’ve had SOME luck transcoding in other software…if not..then from my experience, you’re screwed on those clips.

I think I solved my problem…

I initially installed plug-in with FCP running…

So what I did was go and find the CanonE1 plugin –

library>app support>proapps> and deleted the MIO folder.

Quit FCP, then reinstalled…then just finished a test with the same file I had been having problems with and now have a 12 minute clip.

Use Log and Transfer – with the Canon EOS plugin which is downloadable from Canon’s site.

The source footage from the 7D (and all other DSLR’s) is compressed and isn’t “edit friendly”
