I’m working in NTSC…what is the square pixel dimensions I need to use?
Also, when you say “scale down” do you mean take my 864 x 486 PSD document and then in Photoshop resize to 720 x 486? Is that it…or scale it in the import settings in the avid?

I’ve had success using the effect: Effect > Text > Timecode
This will count with the comp’s timecode…then, just change your stretch on the layer to -100% and you are in luck.
However, this makes a format of 00:01:00:00 instead of 60:00…so you can precomp it and mask the first several 0’s … or I’m sure there’s a way to use the text animator to keyframe using character value or something.

Thanks for reply’ing, I had already figured it out…but I wanted to thank you for replying.
My problem was that I ALWAYS mid L and R channels before I lay them down into my timeline. So now, I just edit first then mid later, it removes the need to delete twice!

For some reason, hitting backspace causes them to delete all in one step…I would assume the *delete* key would do the same.

Maybe either of you could help with my question I asked earlier and never got a good explanation on…regarding audio and automation gain.
If I want to delete an audio clip that I have made using the *add edit* I have to select it with a segment mode (lift or splice) and hit delete, but I have to do that twice. I don’t have any keyframed audio or effects on the clip, just a regular clip…and I add edits, the hash marks are white…I select and delete…the hash marks turn red…then I have to select and delete again.
Is there a way to do this without having to do it twice?

Can you walk me through that? I’ve tried removing everything…and there aren’t any keyframes or anything…and it still doesn’t delete in one step.

Thank you so much for that in-depth explanation, I really gained a lot of information from it. I’ve worked in professional video for years, and never completely understood the original need for interlacing! Thanks man!
