Well now I feel a little silly. The last time I tried it I must have broke something else in the expressions accidentally because I tried again and it works! Problem solved thanks for the help.

Thanks for the reply, Dan, that was my guess as well. I will try it again unless I missed something but I don’t think it worked. Any other thoughts?

Thanks, Joe, for the help! It seems to me this is a weakness of Premiere Pro, a lack of a viable compression format. I’m not an editor but sometimes some simple editing is required and I own the CS5 production bundle so I figured I’d rely on Premiere but it certainly has its drawbacks.

That being said I turned down the playback resolution to 1/4 and it’s helped. I also realized my media wasn’t on my RAID drive so moving it over helped as well.

We may have found some luck exporting from AVID as AVID 1:1. The real test will be when the editor pulls it in and signs off on it. Thanks

Thanks but that is the route I’ve gone – installed the codec package and then checked the output options in AE only to find Avid DNxHD codecs not there. It’s weird, like I said I did the same on a PC and they showed up in the QT options in AE.
