DV footage from AE soft in AVID
I’m having a frustrating issue when rendering DV footage from After Effects to AVID Media Composer. No matter what we do the footage is notably soft once exported from AE. Our workflow right now: Same as Source, even fields from an AVID DV project. from AE DV Setting Quicktime Lossless.
Any suggestions? We tried using the AVID DV codec from AE but then we had color issues. After Effects is not on the same machine so we cannot use Quicktime Ref from the AVID. Right now I have hate in my heart for the DV format. Thoughts?

We may have found some luck exporting from AVID as AVID 1:1. The real test will be when the editor pulls it in and signs off on it. Thanks

There’s a set of AVID codecs which you can download from the AVID site, and then output to from AE, although I don’t think it will help much with DV, as Dave mentioned above (I consider DV quality to be barely broadcast, although I had to work with it for years).
