since they do not include effects, they cannot be altered?

for instance, making a preset a preset’s runtime shorter or longer?

I think I’m selecting properly as I’ve tried dragging the effect onto the actual text as well as dragging it to the layer in the timeline.

I can see that the effect has been added and works but if you look at the picture i uploaded, i cannot change the setting of it, there is no effects setting in the timeline section dropdown boxes

    thanks for the help!

    effects control is already checked

under the layer that has the effect, there is no group called effects, so i guess you can’t alter effects used from the effects and presets section on the right?

August 14, 2009 at 2:37 pm in reply to: move a split

if I use your method Edward, it trims off the amount that I slide from, so I tried using what you told me without holding down the shift key and that seems to work…or does it.

will that alter anything else in the video at all or just allow me to move the split point in that specific clip.

That’s all i want to do is move a split over a split second or 2 to match the camera change better but I have to do it in footage that has been edited previously.

    thanks

unfortunately there were some pretty extensive edits made to the original projects so getting rid of them isn’t an option

i guess i’ll have to render each piece seperately then add them all together and render again.

what a pain and waist of time though

being new to vegas i was already too far into this before the splitting and moving of the video happened which showed me the markers couldn’t lock to the film.

my prob is when i split footage and add other footage in between which pushes all of the later footage farther back while my markers stay in place

    thanks though for your thoughts

doesn’t it show the percentage of the proxy finished in the bottom left corner?

I was aware of this but when i import my 5 files into the project media it doesn’t build them.

if i then drop into the track i still get only 20 seconds of audio.

    thanks, Theo

That solved the problem. I’m running into another problem now. When I use the event pan crop to size/place the image in the bottom right corner of the video, about 1/4 inch in from the inside safe area, the imagewill disappear and get cut off.

Is there a way to overcome that so that I can get this image as close to the right safe area as possible?

    thanks again
