Good question. I may be wrong, but i don’t believe so. I could see where this could be hand though, like on the fly editing???

Get around this by moving your other parts instead to create the space you need.

    Is that useful?

    Sony Vegas 9 Pro 🙂

being new to vegas i was already too far into this before the splitting and moving of the video happened which showed me the markers couldn’t lock to the film.

my prob is when i split footage and add other footage in between which pushes all of the later footage farther back while my markers stay in place

    thanks though for your thoughts

I’m not aware of any way to do it, but you can select all your markers by selecting the first one, holding shift and selecting the last one, then move them all together. It won’t stay pinpoint accurate with the footage and it is an additional step, but if you already have everything in place then it’s the best I can think of.

Jason, look up Auto Ripple in the Vegas online help as this is the feature you want.

There are 3 different modes, Affected Tracks, Affected Tracks, Bus Tracks, Markers, and Regions and All Tracks, Markers, and Regions.
I generally use the 3rd option but your needs may differ.

Auto Ripple should be a tool bar icon with the 3 different options available by clicking the down arrow next to the Auto Ripple button and choosing a ripple type.

Note: be very careful using this option as you can mess yourself up if you’re not careful with it.
What I do is to enable it when needed and then disable it immediately.

Give it a try and you’ll see what I mean.
