I’ve got the same issue. The TC never reads the proper timecode.

I have a multi-cam sequence set up and am trying to export a file for transcription – I want the TC to change everytime I have a cut – I also adjusted the TC on the Multicam so that everything matches and adjusted the TC to all the clips so that they are all the same – the timecode effect ignores the adjusted timecode and only shows the original timecode for each clip.

    super annoying.

First thing to note is that it is impossible to get a true stereo file with only 1 mono microphone.

The most the DR-60DMkII will do is give you 2 stereo files. If you go to the Menu>Rec Mode set the Rec Mode to Stereo and then for Source set it to CH 1/2. You will then get a single stereo file with Left Channel Input 1 and Right Channel Input 2.

If you want to record with your 1/8″ mic input then select 4CH as the record Mode or switch the Source to CH 3/4

Alternately you can set the Rec Mode to DUAL ST and that will give you a stereo file for Input 1 that will have the same mic on both channels but with the Dual Level feature enabled. Input 2 will create a similar file. All depending on your choice selected for the Source.

    Hope that helps.

  • I tried this and it works. It is strange but it does work.

I don’t think you can export any .mp4 with an Alpha. What I did was I went to my original .MOV Animation with Alpha file. I changed the .mov in the file extention to .mp4 and premiere read it fine.

All .mov does is act as a wrapper for the codec. I didn’t think that .mp4 would be able to act as a wrapper for an Animation with Alpha codec, but maybe the renaming it is a workaround.

To have access to layers of an obj file in After Effects I believe you need to open the file in Cinema4D Lite (bundled with AE now). You can apply your textures in there.

The other option, I believe, is to use Video Copilot’s Element 3D.

Unfortunately, After Effects does not support 3D objects natively…as far as I know.

The Poly wave file is what I was looking for. Didn’t know the name. I’ll do some more searching through the manual.

    Thanks so much.

I know that mics don’t record stereo unless it is a stereo mic. But from what I would love, and I’m not sure if it is possible since I only got the device today, is if I could record 4 channel audio into a single file so that I have 4 mono tracks in one file instead of 4 separate files for each channel.

I would get these files from audio guys all the time when working in Reality TV. Also, I think the H4n does this so I would assume this could do it as well.

That also might be a little closer to what the OP was attempting to get.

Not sure about CS6 but in the latest update of CC I am not noticing the issue, in fact, I don’t think I’ve seen it in any of CC versions. And CC is really cool.

  • No, I don’t think you are missing anything.

Just went back to check and it looks that currently the auto-save is placed in the same location as your project file is – so unfortunately in CS6 you are restricted to the auto save being placed in the same location as your project…it “might possibly” be an update included in Premiere Pro CC that could give you an auto-save location option, which is supposed to come out in June according to their website (or at least some apps have new versions in June)

  • To designate where you Auto-Save location is you must do so when creating the project. On the project set up screen click on the Scratch-Disk tab and you can designate the location from there…I’m still trying to figure out if you can change the location after the project has been created.

I tried this. I even uninstalled all of my software and re-installed it but I am still running into the same issue.

Any other ideas? It is only happening to one of the camera reels.
