Hi,

thanks for your reply.
I do think the problem is created somewhere in AE because it concerns only movies that are being rendered in CS5.5 (don’t have the problem with CS4).
Other movies I get that are not from AE show up as stereo.
But when I open these movs in QT Player, the info window tells me it’s stereo.

Well, to be honest, I’m still in the same boat too.
The problem is resolved when I trash the preferences but it keeps returning.
I think especially when I work with project on different hard disks.

Don’t know how to solve this.

I did forget to mention that I have Nucleo Pro running. So maybe that is the app still running in the background ? Thanks for the tip, I’m gonna check it next time AE crashes.

No stress ;o)
I tried a restart but it didn’t help.
It’s getting late in Europe so maybe when I wake up, the Mac will pretend it’s a new day and everything’s ok!

It’s in RAID…
Uncompressed files play perfectly in real time of course. Mac is doing a great job. “knock on wood”
It’s just when I convert them to small QT movies to e-mail to my clients, the quality used to be perfect with the QT Conversion preset in FCP and now suddenly…

No new software installed.
The only thing I did was adjust the multiprocessing settings in AE. I’ve put them back but that doesn’t seem to matter.
My HD is 1,5Tb and I have 257Gb free space.

thanks Rafael, the most important thing is that it looks good on a PAL tv, but it’s still kinda strange.
I figured out that it’s only with the graphics, not with video images underneath it, so maybe it’s something with the motion blur on the graphic layers in CS4.
