    Hi,

working in CS5.5 on a MacPro.
I render a comp with a stereo audio file to a QT Movie with any codec, settings are stereo 16bit, the audio output mapping is set to Left:Out1 Right:Out2 Then I import this movie file in FCP7. There it shows up as 2 mono channels.

    Where did I go wrong?

Chances are it’s a setting in FCP. I’m not familiar with it to say where it might be, but FCP may be set by default to import “stereo as mono” and break up the tracks.

You could also look play it in quicktime, make sure in the movie inspector that it lists one stereo track and not two separate mono tracks.

    Hi,

    thanks for your reply.
I do think the problem is created somewhere in AE because it concerns only movies that are being rendered in CS5.5 (don’t have the problem with CS4).
Other movies I get that are not from AE show up as stereo.
But when I open these movs in QT Player, the info window tells me it’s stereo.

    Strange
    (I think)
