I’ve had the EXACT same problem! Everything will be fine, then I’ll open the project the next day and sometimes certain clips will have the stutter that’s noticeable in pans. My remedy has been to re digitize that clip and that always works, but it’s time consuming and usually requires re-rendering. I’m on a Windows platform with the Matrox LE.

    Eric,
When you get a moment, can you please tell me the model of Supermicro moboard you’re using, the brand and type of RAM (and even if you could tell me where you bought it, for ECC RAM is hard to find). Power supply size would help too. Of course you said what processors you’re using. And finally, I’m using two 1Tb drives in RAID 0 on the motherboard. Would I realize increased performance by going to a PCI-e RAID controller rather then using the SATA ports and controller built into the moboard like I’m using now? Thanks for all your help and this should do it for questions!
Oh, and once again, thanks for letting me piggyback onto your post, Bart!

First of all, Bart, sorry for stepping on your post. Eric, can we please take this to Quad Core Users with Axio LE which I’ll set up now? I have a couple more questions for you!
    Thanks much,

    Eric,
Sounds like you put a rocket ship together! I too run an Axio LE but with the tried and true Tyan K8WE moboard with two dual Opteron 280s which were great in their day, but that was long ago.
It sounds like your system may be so state-of the-art that it has not yet been validated by Matrox. Can you tell me two things: 1) Are Premiere Pro, Matrox and Windows getting along okay together (is your system stable?). 2) What components did you put together? (moboard, ram, video card, etc.) It would be a huge help if I could cheat and not have to do my own homework! Many thanks in advance.

    Dave and Troy,
Many thanks for your help! Better than Avid? Not really, since the Avid displays what portion of the clip has been repeated. If you have a 2 minute clip that you use different potions of throughout the timeline, Adobe claims multiple uses for that 2-minute clip. Avid goes beyond this and shows what portion(s) of that 2-minute clip have been repeated.

    Baz,
This solved the over/under cueing problem 90%. Thanks! Once in awhile it still misses the mark, even with the FF/REW speed set at Shuttlemax. Hopefully Adobe will come out with a preset for that deck in the not too distant future. Many thanks for your help!
