All due respect, this is another repackaged excuse. It’s not gaining traction, although it’s the new talking point this week, for a reason. It doesn’t excuse the silence. At all…and the argument doesn’t stand on it’s own without confirmation and an explanation as to why this was not brought up earlier…
Licenses expire all the time, typically, those that depend on those licenses, get fair warning of their status…and if not, should be called for what it is. Negligence, if silently pulled off the shelves

Semantics. What you call a failure, there is enough evidence to persuade even the biggest Apple neophyte that it was a fabricated, or manipulated marketing scam.
It was promoted as a work in progress at NAB to alleviate concerns about what was missing, not what was to come after release and what was to come with Lion and what was to come from other vendors……Larry Jordan has said this numerous times. Those who followed NAB saw this, you saw it, you just redefine it. And again, it needs repeating, the glorious EOL many of us have spent thousands invested in without warning.
This is anger, not cowardice to the fantasy “revolution” completely repackaged in this thread to say the same dang thing we keep hearing from the “other side”….

Pissed, yes, but to try and once again to dismiss it as misdirected, and not understanding the revolution of the business is grossly off the mark, and serves only to try and toss red meat into the forums for arguments sake.
They were disingenuous on the presentation. Knew full well what it lacked while promoting it as an incomplete product, which it really wasn’t, and to expect larger updates to expressions of the editing process that doesn’t simply tailor to holiday videos reliant on 3rd party developers wasn’t what NAB was about.
People have every right to be “pissed” at this garbage and inadequate release, on almost every detail, the disregard to warn on the EOL, and to dismiss it as white noise and misdirected because you have a greater understanding of the truth is arrogant in the extreme…

They were abandoned, but not by Adobe nor Avid…Final Cut Pro X is now PPro 5-5.5
It’s over. What a strange request considering what Adobe has accomplished with their last 2 releases…good god, they are exactly what FCP8 should have been…and better.

Let’s hope the schools are smarter than that, will work towards educational pricing with avid or Adobe and skip this – disastrously lackluster with no future – program….but we all know how much brands love to warp young minds…and schools are more often than not, susceptible to $

Actually it was the other way around. While I was in Uni and involved with the school board it was Apple who was aggressively pushing to get Final Cut into our classrooms so students would be graduating with a Final Cut skill-set helping to push the platform into the professional market.

Apple has the future in mind, a lot of us who helped build their brand are just not part of it any longer
This guessing game to me is just another reason to ditch them and transition off their bs when convenient for me to do so. Why should ANY of us be guessing at this point as to what the frak is going on…
Even saying they are going to add this or that doesn’t excuse the silence, doesn’t excuse the failure to put any of us on notice of what they intended to EOL…if they had license issues, do I care? Does anyone? Seriously…that is the most pedestrian argument yet. What excuse is that for the failure to communicate their “paradigm” shift…? And continuously lie in April….? Excuse excuse excuse excuse…
This isn’t cynical, this is reality – this was pure g.r.e.e.d. So greedy in fact, they didn’t mind stepping on the backs of those that helped built their brand lying their greedy fat faces off the whole time. Carpetbaggers…and now they want the Luddite whiner griper hater complainers to wait…because it’s got a super locomotive engine underneath with revolutionary magnetic rails and we all just have to get on board and adapt to the “method”….

No worries. And again, sorry to get prickly, it’s just the automatic verbatim response to nothing pertaining to the complaints levied. It’s just the easiest argument to make to me, as it pretty much goes without saying and hoped would die on the first day…but it’s stuck, and won’t die, and amounts to white noise to my eyes…
