Does this work with Vegas HD Platinum? Or is it just Vegas Pro?

Actually I just realized that the first time that I rendered the videos they were set as Upper Field First, and the final project Progressive Scan. Would that mess it up? What’s the difference? And what Bit Rate would I use?
