IMO, the single biggest factor worthy of you attention for video editing is the GPU.
The Quadro K2100M is on the supported list of cards for PrPro, but it is only 2GB.
The GeForce GTX 980M is not on the supported list of cards for PrPro, but it is only 4GB.If they were both fully supported, then I’d say the 4GB card is a no brainer. But without official support you are taking your chances as to how well it can play with PrPro. It might be worth that time to find some other forum thread specifically geared to GPU’s and see if other users have had good results with that GTX 980m + PrPro.

Good to know! AJA knows about this issue and we are working with them to get a fix in place asap. The workaround (at least for me) is to stop playback before trimming.

You will mostly just lose things like the recent project list, loaded plugins (not the actual plugins, they;re just have to re-load) and customizations that you did not save. Things like workspace layouts, keyboard customization and effects presets can all be saved explicitly so you won’t lose them Also, in CCS you can utilize sync settings to preserve and share most of your prefs across systems and up to new versions.
I agree they deleting prefs is a very common troubleshooting tip. I often suggest it (and to it) myself because it’s so easy and low risk. But almost as common, and usually more effective is deleting your media cache files, which can often solve strange display behaviors. Especially if you actually delete them (from the root) as opposed to just cleaning them (from within the media prefs dialog). Note though that if you are going to delete them all at some point, you do so at your own risk because it will make all of your cache files have to re-generate.

By “subtitle”, do you mean the closed captions? And by “subtitles embedded”, do you mean open captions?
For now, you need to use the titler or a 3rd party plugin for that, but in the next release…

It’s a known issue, and I made sure there’s still a relevant report open for it. Still, it’s always good for users to report their own problems and feature requests here if possible:

April 28, 2015 at 7:06 pm in reply to: A png pic inserted into a title as a graphic doesn’t showOK, I see.. PrPro is not recognizing the alpha in that image correctly. I believe the same thing will happen if you save it into another format which supports the alpha transparency, such as PSD.
A workaround is to put it on its own sequence and you can key it out and then use the sequence like a clip.
I’m not sure that it’s a problem with all transparency scenarios in the titler, or just certain ones. But I did play around with different save/compression options in PS and none of that seemed to make it work right in PrPro. It could be a know bug or a design limitation. I’ll look into it.
Here is another forum topic about the same (or very similar) thing:

April 28, 2015 at 4:00 pm in reply to: going crazy with ai and eps file imports (and lack thereof)PDF is a native format for AI so you should have no trouble saving any of them out as that from Illustrator. Still, I know of no reason why you should not be able to import any of them as is, since both EPS and AI are supported for import by prpro. The layers will be flattened but they should import. (I went back to check some of my really old AI and EPS files to make sure of this just now).
Are they failing to import at all? That is, are you getting an import failure dialog? Or are they importing and you’re just not seeing anything? One thing that’s gotten me in the past was when I imported a solid Black on white (empty) logo and saw nothing in PrPro. This was because AI’s ’empty’ is inherently white like paper and PrPro’s ’empty’ is inherently black like a video monitor. So I was seeing black on black. Probably not likely in your case but possible so I wanted to bring that out just in case.
Assuming they’re failing to import at all, my recommendation is to open them into AI again and re-save them. If they still fail after re-saving them as AI, EPS, or even PDF, then maybe try exporting them as a more ubiquitous image format like PNG, TIFF, PSD or even JPG.

Try the following, if you have not already:
• Sign out from Creative Cloud, restart Premiere Pro, then sign in
• Update any GPU drivers
• Trash preferences
• Delete media cache
• Disconnect any third party hardware
• RebootIf you have trouble finding a way to do any of those, let me know and I can send you some help links.
