October 25, 2006 at 5:09 pm in reply to: how to speed up rendering time with Vegas

    Doug,

Thanks a ton for your clear answers to my questions.

Probably what I will do for is upgrade to a new computer with a Core2Duo motherbaord, 2 gig ram, and internal sataII hard drive. Then render from the usb drive to the sataII. Also upgrade to Vegas 7.0 and try all that out to see if it is livable.

I just don’t want to start the learning curve with a new NLE if I can avoid it.

    Thanks again!!! James

  • Yes for the text.

And the same thing for a video clip with a box around it.

There has to be a simple way to do it…. Thanks, James

  • Dear Terry,

I was not clear. The effect of the globe I’ve created with JumpBack. The challenge has been to create the text and the video coming on the screen and off the screen. And I did create the effect for the text and the moving video in a NLE called DPS Velocity in about 10 minutes.

I’ve now spent another 3 hours trying to figure it out in Sony….

    Thanks for your help, James

    Mary,

I used rear screen projection quite a bit.

    1. You do not need to do anything to the video. There is a setting in most projectors that will “convert” the video to rear screen.

    2. The best thing to do is to rent a rear screen. Most hotel will have them and they have the screen that is made for rear screen projection. You want as much of the video to show through as possible – that’s way you want want a screen made for rear screen projection.

    3. Use as bright of a projector as you can.

All the best with the project, James

September 7, 2006 at 11:36 am in reply to: Experience with DV Rack?

I used it all the time. The only problem with it, is that if you are shooting something over 1 hour (and are using DV Rack to record it) it sometime corrupts the file. Then you have to call tech support and get a program to fix that file. Otherwise it is a great program.

    Good luck, James
