December 27, 2012 at 4:22 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas Pro 12 1394 Fire Wire issues iwth Papnsonic AG-DV2000 DECK…Yup, I tried that Power Down and even tried turning things on in both directions to see if it made any difference. Nada….
It’s maddening…. 😎
At this Point I’ve rebuilt a New Windows XP-Pro Machine so I can still use my old Digital Rapids DRC-1500 Streaming Media and Capture board.
I’m in the process of setting it up. It has an OLD Fire Wire Connection and I’m also putting in an old Pinnacle MovieBoard setup on that Box (Just for Fun) as that also has a firewire connection on it’s board. Almost there…..
I’ll Let you guys know what happens. 😎
Thank You,

December 26, 2012 at 8:12 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas Pro 12 1394 Fire Wire issues iwth Papnsonic AG-DV2000 DECK…I just noticed something regarding my devices list.
Using Sony Video Capture as before when I hook up the fire wire to the DV-X100 Camera it does work as before but key to that is the fact that I now see listed under devices ” Microsoft DV Camera and VCR ” That does NOT show up in the Sony Video Capture list when I plug the same fire wire setup to my Panasonic AG-DV2000 Deck. So there is an issue with the Microsoft DV Camera and VCE Drivers NOT SEEING the Deck?
Any Ideas??

December 26, 2012 at 7:58 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas Pro 12 1394 Fire Wire issues iwth Papnsonic AG-DV2000 DECK…Ok, I was able to install the Legacy drivers. The Devices list hasn’t really changed.
I have:
BLACK MAGIC WDM Capture
Cirrus Logic USB-DRV2 Source (This seems to be the right one)
DeckLink Video CaptureIt told me to recycle the power on the device because it couldn’t read it. Then after that I’m getting a blue boxed screen message in Vegas Pro 12 caputure that says Preview is Turned off.
I had gotten that message before but could not find out anything about turning “Preview” back on???
Thank you for your advice on this.

December 24, 2012 at 5:08 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas Pro 12 1394 Fire Wire issues iwth Papnsonic AG-DV2000 DECK…Actually this sparked a bit of an idea on my part.
I recently rebuilt a Windows XP Pro box so I could still support
my old Digital Rapids DRC-1500 Card. It’s pretty powerful for an
XP-PRO setup so I’m going to reinstall both the DRC-1500 board which has the very old TI chipset in it along with the original last known working drivers available for that board. I’m also throwing in an old Pinnacle Studio MovieBoard in this mix which also has the older legacy FireWire Connections and Chipset. Also older Drivers etc.
If the Panasonic AG-DV2000 doesn’t work on either of those then I don’t know what to try next.
My other problem is I’m having trouble with Networking Windows 7 Machines together with Windows XP Pro Machines. But I’ll leave that for another post. That problem is intermittent and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t so I’ll address this next. Do you have a forum for that kind of stuff?Green Bay TEA Party

December 22, 2012 at 11:40 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas Pro 12 1394 Fire Wire issues iwth Papnsonic AG-DV2000 DECK…Ok, did you read the part where I said literally the same set up worked with the Panasonic DV-X100 Camera but NOT the Panasonic AG-DV2000 Deck? So I paid the Panasonic Tech at our local repair facility to Test the Deck. He called me back and Proved the Deck Works with his early version of Vegas Pro 9. I’m on Vegas Pro 12.
So we can get the Camera to work on MY SETUP.
And
We can get the Deck to work on Another Setup so the Deck Works…
What am I missing?Green Bay TEA Party

December 21, 2012 at 11:26 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas Pro 12 1394 Fire Wire issues iwth Papnsonic AG-DV2000 DECK…Nope,
This can’t be the problem because the Fire Wire Port has been tested and works on the Camera if you’re reffering to the Deck Fire Wire it works too! The Tech showed me it did on his workbench setup with an early version of Vegas Pro 9 I’m On 12 now and I’m thinking they did something….??Green Bay TEA Party
