Yeah that’s pretty much how I feel. Called the op and left a message asking – I’m running on the theory currently that there is either another card that wasn’t given to me – hence the missing subclips – or there really was some type of error on the camera… Because its a couple of clips I’m leaning towards the former.

Thanks for the heads up about clip browser – downloading it now and will start using it henceforth.

I would interrogate the producer but they just left to go to the pub and watch the football stating ‘I’ve wasted half a day on this dogs**t and I’m not wasting any more – advise you don’t either’. Deadlines Friday. Nice!

No they were not on but I went back to the cards and examined straight from there, and its the same thing. We normally take whole copies of the files and put them on a hard drive so the clips can connect themselves again if spanned. Anyway in this case we still have the cards and they don’t work either…. thanks though

Hi I know this is old but expressions are new to me… So I’m trying out a bouncing ball for work. I need to drop a ball in and let it bounce around off walls and then come to a rest. I tried the first expression and got the same errors as the other guy. Tried the second expression and it works, but I want to control it a bit more. Saw the line ‘pickwhip the first lines of the expression to a slider’. Can anyone enlighten me here? I understand making the expression control and then grabbing the pickwhip, but it either says an error or dumps the code. How do I tell it to just effect the top few lines of the expression?

    Cheers

Thanks for all the suggestions. The AE project looked great! A LOT of work went into that. Thats kind of what I meant – it takes so long to program something like that, that you might has well just overlay the real thing if you can find it. But hey, if someone else has done the project already… 🙂

Having a look at Archive.org, and it has a lot of cool stuff in it. Might be being a dumbass, but when you go to download the project the movie clips have their images in them (not surprising really) but then there is no project to download and the XML file won’t open…. I’ll keep having a look around – maybe its just the way this person is uploading, but a massive thanks for the heads up.

I’ve not used a dirt map before so I’ll have a dig and see what turns up. I did try using quicktime filters for all of that scratches and flecks etc straight on to the image. The generators seem to spaz out when you feed them HD footage, but will try this dirt map idea.

Thanks and if you have any more gems, please keep em coming! I’ll try and upload what I’ve found to share the love.

Ahhh thank you very much! Works like a charm. Its a bit of a shame that when you generate a shape it fills in the background with a solid though. Would have thought there was an option to make it transparent. The key worked a treat though, cheers
