Changing the resolution of the screen should cause the same issue – the problem will just be created in hardware instead of software. I suggest simply putting your composition panel on the second monitor, and having the comp panel scale to up to 100%.

In Keylight, have you tried setting “Replace Method” in the Screen Matte section to “Hard Colour”? I’ve found that Keylight messes up the blacks, but changing this setting t Hard Colour fixes it. However, if your noise is actually in the original footage, this probably wont make a help that.

I would expect so – that’s a much more powerful system than what I’m using with Windows and Premiere and it works great for me.

But if you are not thrilled with the subscription concept, have you tried Davinci Resolve? I’m looking at switching to Resolve and have been very impressed so far. Love the speed editor panel.

You’re blowing it up significantly beyond it’s normal size, so that would likely be a part of it. There’s also a good chance that clip from the movie is also originally interlaced, which compounded when blown up by a factor of 3 would cause problems. And quite likely 29.97fps. If this is correct, it’s probably a “it is what it is” thing. But someone else might have some options for you.

How did you obtain that clip from It’s a Wonderful Life? And what’s the specs on that clip with regards to frame rate and interlaced/progressive?

  • I downloaded the two pictures you posted, and the colors look identical to me on my laptop…?

For future reference, Izotope Rx can work miracles when Audition’s tools don’t do well.

OK, when I went to report the issue on Adobe’s site, looks like they are already investigating. Basically, if you aren’t using a default workspace, keyboard shortcuts are broken.

    Sigh….

    Thanks Ricky.

  • I’m guessing you don’t need an answer to this anymore at this point, but just in case — I’ve not had any issues using Encore on Windows 10.

  • I went ahead and purchased a new graphics card. Thought perhaps someone out there might be interested in the results.

I bought the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC GAMING Black Edition Graphics Card to replace my Quadro K4000 card when I was having rendering issues while using the Red Giant Denoiser III effect. For a 40 minute seminar video using the K4000, after six hours the render had gotten about 30% done, and for the previous two hours was making no further progress and was up to 14 hours remaining (and increasing one-for-one with elapsed time!). After installing the 1080 card, the same video rendered in 3.5 hours. Awesome! And the card is pretty much silent.
