I really liked occasionally putting a sound effect such as doorbell ring/knock at door next to those cutaways.

Guess I can still do i with a compound clip and perhaps that’s better manners anyway.

I found lot of FCP Legacy users were not that disciplined with timelines sometimes (myself included in the early days) so allowing people to be even more chaotic when the Magnetic Timeline is otherwise so helpful for keeping a nice tidy timeline seemed to be encouraging bad practice?

[Bret Williams] “I’m pretty cool with everything else, except the COLORS.”

Me too. Like staring into a dark night. My eyes can’t seem to focus as well.

[Steve Connor] “[Oliver Peters] “Are you incapable of engaging in a civil discussion? Why is it that your attitude is always confrontational?”

Time to hit the imaginary “ignore” button?”

    Yup

Nobody else had this issue then?

I don’t use it nearly as much as I did the equivalent (what was it called?) in Legacy.

[Aindreas Gallagher] “It’s la la land software. You’re all at the mad hatter’s party.”

What I love most (and I do enjoy your prose – you may be in the wrong game even) but after all these years you still feel compelled to remind us of our errant ways.

I DO kind of get that. I know that feeling.”How could they possibly not realise what fools the are being?”

It’s Richard Dawkins syndrome. I absolutely empathise.

But when it comes to keyframing I get by okay and like the fact that once you’ve added one, FCPX understands what you are doing and adds the rest of the for you. Sometimes I do get in a bit of a muddle I confess – I’ve aways blamed myself to be honest.

I don’t do much in the way of compositing and I rather prefer keyframing in X to legacy. So at the risk of causing people to snigger and guffaw at my ignorance, what exactly is the issue with keyframing (in a nutshell) that you so dislike please?

Thanks Kripá and all for the feedback. I had not noticed the date and time in Thumbnail view (I never use if for looking at projects, especially since we lost the ability to skim through them. Why was that incidentally?)

Is that information definitely “last modified”? It looks like it is.

If so that helps a lot and information which should be available in list view as well as browser view.

I got it from Ripple Training and it’s not quite real batch export but doesn’t take any more time.

Yes very annoyingly you cannot select a whole bunch of projects and export them with one set of commands.

But you can set one export options as default in preferences and then just Command E all the projects one at a time. Once you have selected a destination for the first export the others all follow to the same place.

    So it is quite fast.

    NB

The problem with this system I have found is if you want to then batch export again in a different format and change the default export in settings it screws up the previous batch export.

    Thanks Bret.

    Memory playing tricks with me.

First comment about El Capitan is exporting seems much slower out of FCPX to me. I have not done a scientific test. I measure it on the personal boredom tedium scale.

I know I should be getting on with other stuff.
